Trump Trampling Ethics
by cosmicrat ·

Perhaps Trump's ambition is to make history.  He has done that already, setting a new low in campaign courtesy, a new low in truthful statements (or a record high in lies).  There have been racist Presidents before, but none quite so blatant about it.  He is probably the first to win a election and then claim that it was rigged against him.

It seems he is also the biggest loser of the popular vote to win on electoral votes.

What will really be interesting, even before he gets the chance to beat George W. Bush's record as the worst President in US history, is how he deals with the gigantic ethics problems he has, and how the legal system deals with them:

GSA's Trump Hotel Lease Debacle

No doubt some of those who loudly claimed Clinton had conflicts of interest, without any real evidence, will be saying "He can do anything he wants- he's the President!"  We'll see if that's true.

Trump is turning out to be the same.  Perhaps in four years neither the Democrats nor Republicans will be in the White House.  However, I don't think that will happen because the Democrats and Republicans, both as corrupt as hell, will fight to keep their power hold on the US government.  Since they hold the power, change will not happen through legislation but only through revolution.

Let's stop beating the racist drum; that was the Clinton campaign.  Didn't you see the "racist bastard" post I made?  As for hating gays, the Clintons even passed laws to hurt them; Trump has not passed any laws to hurt the gay community.

The popular votes does not matter, has not matter.  There has been a few times where the popular vote was opposite.  The USA is a republic and for good reasons, democracy is mob rule; rule by tyranny.  Those that keep moaning about the popular vote forget about such things as discrimination that the popular vote made legal.  Even the electoral college is not without problems.  As it stands now, eleven states can decide the election; that needs to change.  Each state should have one electoral college vote; that gives each state equal standing in having a voice in deciding the presidency.

There is plenty of proof about the Clintons and their corruption but you won't see it.  I doubt if you even read any of the articles about Clinton or watched any of the videos.

Trump campaigned by drumming up prejudice and hate against Muslims and Mexicans.  His "advisor" promotes white nationalism.  He's making Sessions, who even a Republican Senate rejected as too racist to be a Federal judge, Attorney General.  Pence wants to fund programs to "cure" homosexuality.

I don't know what a picture of Trump with two black men is supposed to prove.

You keep saying Clinton "passed laws against gays" even though you know that isn't true.

If you like Trump and Republican politics, just say so.  You've said you don't like democracy.  There's no longer any point in repeating all the lies about Hillary Clinton.  They have already done their damage.  All you're doing is insulting more than half the voters in America for no good reason.

No, Trump did drum up hate against Mexicans and Muslims.  Trump did addressed the problem with immigration; as did Bernie Sanders.  Is Bernie a racist as well then?

I hate to break this to you but people that are racist against Blacks don't associate with them, won't sit with them, won't take their hand.  Trump is not a racist.  The Clintons created the racist rant to try and help win the election.

I posted this once before but perhaps you missed it:

“We’re told that President Clinton (like Mrs. Clinton and some other Dems) thinks that Trump would be a formidable opponent in the general election, and that Dems are in a form of denial if they dismiss Trump as a joke who would be easily defeated in November. President Clinton, like others, thinks that Trump has his finger on the pulse of the electorate’s mood and that only a well-financed, concerted campaign portrayed him as dangerous and bigoted will win what both Clintons believe will be a close November election.”

Trump's using racism is not an opinion.  It was there in his own words.  He called Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists.  "they send us their worst people" he said.  (That is a lie-- they work harder and commit fewer crimes than citizens do)

Immigrants are not a problem.  The SYSTEM of immigration that makes it too hard for most to immigrate legally is the problem.  Sanders and Clinton both said that, and that those who are here should have a path to citizenship.

You're describing the old Southern segregationist type of racist, and there are still some of those.  Racists in business and politics are more likely to pretend not to be-- to smile and shake hands and say "Thank you for your application", or  "thanks for expressing your concerns", but who they decide to hire, who can rent their apartments, buy houses, get loans; what communities get better schools and what kind of policing-- these tell the real story.

And remember that many plantation owners slept with their female slaves.  Many grew up with black servants caring for the children, cleaning their houses-- they'd say they "loved them like family", and maybe they did, but not as equals.

As a landlord, Trump discriminated against black people.  Selecting Bannon and Sessions, and Pence as Vice President are signs that it isn't just Mexican immigrants who should be worried.

Trump IS dangerous and bigoted, but even worse, he is willing to use bigots as his power base-- his constituency.  It was probably a mistake for Clinton to emphasize that in the campaign, because it made him even more attractive to the white nationalist sympathizers, those who fear the growing numbers of nonwhite non-Europeans as a threat to dominance.

Hillary supported and campaigned for Bill Clinton's laws that he signed that hurt gays.  Those laws were "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that hurt gays serving in the military (not just losing their service but losing benefits)  and "Defense of Marriage Act" that hurt gays by denying them survivor benefits as well as allowing states to not recognise their marriage.  By not recognisng their marital status, they could deny certain benefits and rights.  While senator of New York, Hillary stated very clearly she was against gays having the right to marry.  Her saying she supported gays was a crock of shit; to paraphrase Obama, she will say anything and change nothing.

Look up what the military laws and policy was BEFORE "Don't ask, don't tell".

Blame Congress for DOMA.  Bill Clinton was against it, but Congress had a veto-proof majority.
