Blogster Crashes - Members Lose a Year's Worth of Data

I just got a report that Blogster crashed, went off-line for three days and when it came back on-line members had lost a whole year's worth of data.  Evidently proper backups were not being conducted.  A year's worth of data is a considerable amount; especially for active bloggers and other posts.  Prior to the crash, parts of the system had become unstable and notifications had stopped working.  That should have been a warning sign to the site's IT staff to do a complete backup and move the files off the server.

I always type mine in word before I post in case of some malfunction, which has happened, So I have all mine safe if there are any crashes.

Ricca is on there claiming the backup got corrupted.  However, they were not doing proper backups.  So they had to pull out a backup from May 2013.  Who knows, that might have been a host backup.

Update: It appears that groups lost most or all of their content as well.

I'd "like" or plus this announcement, but both those sites are crap, too, so...tweet tweet! (I never was a fan of Blogster---yep, the Ronster left the Blogster. Good move!)
