Now It's The Mower

I finished cutting the grass in the front garden and stopped the mower to empty the bag.  I go to the back garden and I pulled a couple of times on the starter rope and it pulls out of the starter.  Luckily it started so I got the back garden finished and then left it running and took it out to the street to cut.  I will have to pull the starter off and wind a new rope.  Seems that the gremlins are out for me.

Lol, I had a good day to mow yesterday with my mower, a push mower, 6.5 hp Craftsman. Briggs and Stratton engine. The RPMs all of a sudden shot way up over the recommended 3200 rpms. I checked the spring on the governor, forward and back adjustment doesn't do anything, linkage feels stiff that is going under the governor, Maybe I'll shoot some carb cleaner under there this morning and manually try to loosen it up. RPMs slow down if I manually move that linkage.
All the people that I know on FB, I thought that someone would respond with advice on the matter. It's like cricket silence over there. People just like drama but never talk shop. I like talking shop, lol.

Gremlins live mostly in computers. (Actually, they are tech support for most major computer corporations.)

That is fine but goats tend to leave a little something behind as they mow the grass.

It is a push mower; well, it has a power drive but I never use it; I just push without it.  My sister gave me the mower.  I am the sad sack in the family so everyone takes pity on me and give me their stuff when they get something new.  It is a good mower so it is not like she gave me something that was worn out; she just needed something smaller.  My sister's main mower is a zero turn radius mower; that thing can cut some grass.  I don't have a lot of grass to cut so a push mower works just great for me.  Anyway, rewinding these things can be a pain.  You have to be careful of the spring thing and you have to preload the tension so that the rope is under some tension.  I can do the job but wish I didn't have to.

Don't know if you saw where I got flooded out in the spring.  My gardens still have not recovered but they are improving.  My daylilies are doing great this year but I lost a lot of bulbs and such; they just rotted on me.

Recently it was my printer.  Sister #4 gave me her used Epson inkjet printer.because she didn't use it any more.  She got a laser printer.  So I got four sets of ink cartridges for the printer because it was cheaper to buy four sets.  The printer worked great.  Then just when I absolutely had to print some documents that I needed to send off the printer would turn on, then off.  I pressed the on button and it just kept repeating.  Now it won't turn on at all.  I suspect the power board but you have to disassemble the printer to get to the power board.  So I don't want to toss the printer just yet but I doubt if it can be repaired.

There was also an issue with the leveling arm of the Old Girl; my 8N tractor.  I inherited the tractor from Mum when she passed away.  I managed to find one on ebay and got the guy to let me have it for $55.00 total.  Later he came back and wanted more but he agreed to the original price in the end.

I might not have read what it was before the mower, cuz  I was really seldom around lately ... The gremlins seem to be out for everyone - I'm since months without a washing machine and and and - better not think about the crazy things here :) ... BUT - I can help .... Just wait a few minutes... The work of course will be your job as always, but I think you can do it ...Big Hug

You have been in my thoughts and I remember the washing machine.  Wish I could come and repair it for you; if possible to be repaired.  I have an old washer; it was given to my sister who in turn gave it to me.  Sister #1 gave me her used dryer which I have connected to the power or run the duct.  I only took it in case of needing to dry and not able to use the clothesline.  Electric dryers really eats the juice when they are running.

It's not possible to repair the machine ... It's a very old one and very heavy ... The problem is that I would need 3 strong guys to get it outta my bathroom ... I have a used working machine here, which is probably better than a new one and could take this one ...But the guys are lazy and never all together around, well I should talk to them again, let's see :)

A hand dolly and a ratchet strap.  I could get it out for you.  You use the ratchet strap to tightly strap the machine to the dolly.  Then you use physics; you just tilt the machine over and all the weight is on the wheels.  You just roll it out.  I have moved some pretty heavy things by myself with a hand dolly and a ratchet strap.

I don't know if you followed along with my transmission replacement.  That was a very heavy transmission; over 200 lbs force.  There is no way I could have handled that but I got it in the shed using a hand dolly and ratchet strap.
