Pushing Hard In The Gardens

I have been pushing hard to get all the flower beds weeded and mulched.  I have also been pulling up the borders around the beds.  I like to use natural stone for the borders and over the course of a few years they will sink into the ground.  All the stone for the borders have come from the property and were moved to the gardens using wheelbarrow and trolley.  It wasn't easy pushing a wheelbarrow full of heavy stones.  There is a bed beside the shed that doesn't have a border and I need to see about adding it.

Managed to get the bed done by the front porch.  I really need to replace that border with larger stones but that is for another day.  A rain shower prevented me from cutting the grass.  I worked in the back veggie garden for part of the day.

I always think about how nice it would be to have someone to help with all the projects.  I need to move the opening in the fence; I started by moving some purple cone flowers and a peony and that is as far as I got.  I need to redo the border so I can have a new pathway at that bed.  It won't have the nice curve so I need to think how I want the shape to be.  And the hall bath still has the huge hole in the floor and the toilet sitting in the tub.  Any volunteers?

I, too, use common field stones for borders. I am fortunate to have the creek right across the road so I get a lot of the large ones from the creek bed.

You are sooooo right about how heavy they are. (I have been swiping a few of hubbys limestone boulders for Sir Froggy's bed and one of them is all I can carry at a time. I won't take the wheelbarrow there because he would be sure to catch me ) lol

I have a few beds that the stones have almost completely disappeared underground. I need to raise them. Sighhhhhh so many projects...so little summer!!

Can't wait to see all your work!!
