So, anyone recommend a good new Internet browser to switch to from FireFox?

Must be customisable, fast, reasonably secure, and its developers must have the word "privacy" and "user-consent" in their frigging vocabularies.

Seriously, this shit's pissing me right the fuck off --basically everything we rightly hated internet Explorer for has come to call on FF--  and even without the recent technical issues, it would seem that Mozilla has given up the good fight, and is just going to become another craven lackey for Google.

Yeah...It was great whilst it lasted, and it sure did last, but it would seem that the L/T/R with Mozilla must now come to an end.

Have you looked at my recommendations?  What do you think?

I have looked at Pale Moon --liked what I saw might switch over soon-ish. (It's basically what Fox used to be before it went to shit, unless I'm mistaken?).

I've never trusted Chrome, either --plus, something about it just rubs me the wrong way. Dunno why, it just does.

My main browser is Pale Moon, it is based off of FireFox but they strip out all the crap that Mozilla puts in.  I recently downloaded Opera and I like the new version.  However, I don't have any knowledge of any spying crap or anything in Opera.  Pale Moon is still the browser I use.

A port of Chrome is SRWare Iron; like Pale Moon, they take the open source code and remove the crap to make it more secure and better privacy.  I have used SRWare but I have never really like Chrome and it is from the Chrome source code.

So I recommend looking at Pale Moon and SRWare Iron.  Read and make your own decision.
