WE HAD A TORNADO GO THRU RIGHT CLOSE LAST NIGHT..

WAS CRAZY THE WAY THE SKY LOOKED..WHEN THEY SAID ABOUT THE SEVERE WEATHER..THERE WAS NO WARNINGS OF A POSSIBLE TORNADO.

wife went lil bit ago to check on her daughter and husband..cant reach her by phone.. the tornado was to been close to denver pa..town she lives in.we are on outskirts of the town by 4 mile abouts....all i know is..the center this dark cloud area was over us almost .and way the storm kept moving..it shifted southward a little bit and it pretty much centered up in the tail end of it for a long while..it was not moving very fast by any means..I looked up.and can see how it was tracking.dark edges this storm looked equal from notrh to south as it was moving eastward so to speak..or north east what ever they may call its path.

poor dog was scared prior to the storm...he must known what was going on..trying to hide under us literally..shaking so so bad..panting and all.

tell you what..never seen animals act like he did before...all i know is.rumors have it..the funnel was seen by many..we not seen due to mostly watching tv show..but many times kept looking out....think if we was on back deck..it would have been seen..

hope at one point..can get some image verification its path..hope wife makes it over and gives a report the damage she seen..ill get my eye filled afterwards..

and talk about rain after it passed..wow..it dumped fast and hard for a little while..and I spent off and on watching this huge dark band slowly drift away..I know at one point..I thought the neighbor ladys bushy 2 trees close to out property was going to rip out of the ground..the view..was simply speachless..I was not concerned.till i seen that....and i shur hope no events like that happen around here again..ever..so.time will tell what all happened lastnight..

Glad you and your family are ok.

I was in a tornado here back in the 70's.  I was at the dirt bike track and when the tornado hit it picked up the vehicle slightly a few inches while giving it a little shake, and then leveled the trailer park that was right down the road from the track we were at.

Later on, a tornado hit the edge of a town 6 miles to the north of us, and the side winds from the tornado ripped the awning off the front of our home and hit my son with a piece of 6x6 post that was pulled out of the ground, as he was running up the lane from getting off the school bus. He wasn't hurt bad thankfully.

I don't sleep well at night if I know the storms are bad and are moving through our area, and I live in a brick and block wall home Grandpa and Dad built.

If you haven't done so; get rafter tie-downs installed; not that expensive and it helps to keep the roof on.  Studies have shown that homes during a tornado usually fail when the roof is blown off.  Look up rafter tie-downs if you don't know what I am talking about.

we are about 3 1/2 miles from the town of denver pa.. this is denver address zip.but a diff name within..kinda weird..but ehh..she said there was basically a mess from branches.few trees here and there..no substncial damage to buildings..unless a home had new roof..I can see shingles lift over that because shingles need good heat to bond and seal..for most part..

Years ago, when I was living in Nashville, we had a tornado that was over the building, where I worked. It did not touch down.
We were in the basement. I heard the tornado sound. It sounds like a train whistle.

many say about that whistle..but not always true..sometimes its that windy its unbearable as is even qtr mile away..have never seen one.but other month that snowtado..that was a sight to frighten any one..we had like 60 mph gusts and all i seen going down freeway was this white cloud blooming up and over a huge hill.not quite a mountain.and it started thru a cut and over a big ass hill that lead to a field..once it hit the field it busted right up..and there was many vehicles that seen and slowed up..we was 2,000 yrds away..a sight rarely seen by many..

and dont trust everything from youtube..it may be true..but as i said..things are different what the ears hear..or vrs what the recording device does..I recorded something with some wind..and got that whistle effect..  much like a properly cracked window in a vehicle....everything debating on the topic..has a ? to it..and only true truth..is personal experience..just my take on it..and dont care to find out..

Wow! I am glad you are all okay. Next time your little dog acts like that I would take cover, animals can sense a lot of things and they know when something is up.

Glad you and yours are OK, Jim.  Saw these storms in Kansas, but they were on the horizon and never touched down near my home. In Indiana when I lived for a short time in a trailer park, it was a different matter: One night a tornado swept through the park destroying half of it before lifting just short of my trailer, dropping down again and cutting a swath through a nearby subdivision. It sounded like a freight train with not only wind but hail.

thats about correct..I seen dark dark clouds..but nothing ever compared to lastnight..I have seen a snow tornado come out a valley up here other month..and this..hummm...but.it can happen anywhere actually..and how i see it..you get hills and wind going over hills..makes room for a current change and shit can get twsty quick..sometimes more so than flat ground..I guess..
