Description

IMAGINE

Until recently, I had the lyrics to John Lennon's "Imagine" in this space. That song still conveys my vision of the world as it should be.

Imagining is important. Having a positive ideal is valuable; one should have firmly in mind what is good, and what should be, not just what is wrong, and what should never happen.

But in a world where wrongs are abundant, both at home and abroad, a good person has a duty, a responsibility, to oppose wrongdoing, wrong saying, and wrong thinking whenever it is encountered.

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
-Harriet Tubman

The world will not, and cannot live as one, in peace, as long as too many people and their governments are motivated by greed for power and wealth, and divide themselves and the rest of us by bigotry-- prejudice and intolerance over religion, race, national origin, gender, or sexual preference.

Whenever I see anyone advocating or excusing greed or prejudice, I will speak against it, here or elsewhere.

Likewise to those who want war, oppression, and denial of human rights.

Those who are silent in the face of evil are its enablers.
