Bloody Storm

I woke up this morning to find my okra and corn on the ground.  The okra is late because I had to replant.  The corn is under height so I don't know if it will produce anything or not.  I garden but the reaping is getting harder and harder.

Okra if left will continue to grow. Last year my okra got blown at a 45 degree angle, so I just left it. The stems simply turned upward and grew really strong to produce an abundance of pods.

Yes, I could have done that.  However, I like it when it is nice and pretty in a row.

Gardening can be a constant battle. If it's not the weather, it's the bugs, or the wildlife, or the neighbors pets, or a host of things. I think gardeners must be the most optimistic people there are ...we  plant, we hope, we do it all over again year after year...

The okra and corn is off the ground.  I was surprised at how fast the okra turned up towards the sun.  However, it will straighten out.  I drove some posts and used twine to hold them up until they recover.
