Hurricane Dorian

Most are saying it is Trump's fault; he pulled the US out of the Paris Accord and now we have this massive hurricane barrelling down on the US.  However, I have a different theory; I think it is Pinky and the Brain.  They created it to take over the world.

I'll bite, who is this "most" you are talking about?  Yeah, pulling us out of the Paris Accord was pretty stupid, and global warming is real, but exactly who is blaming Trump for this particular hurricane?  If they keep getting worse 10-20 years down the road, yeah, then you can start pointing fingers.  There isn't anything this administration could have done to change this one.

This whole post was me being cheeky; I thought that was clear.  As for pulling out of the Paris Accord, no it was NOT pretty stupid.  The Paris Accord did nothing; except we were going to give away millions of taxpayers' dollars, around 500 million if I recall correctly.  The US has reduced emissions since pulling out of the accord while China has increased emissions.  India and Brazil are also increasing emissions.

You are low on the cost, we paid $1 billion, we pledged $3 billion.  And you are correct, China's emissions were going up, they have plateaued after a pretty huge rise.  The problem is that Trump has not done a thing about Global Warming after leaving the treaty because he doesn't believe in Global Warming.  Or in his own words:  "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive."

Um, no, and if you take a look at pictures of China these days you can see why allowing uncontrolled pollution is not a good idea, global warming or not. See here:

Now I've been around long enough to know what the skies in Northern New Jersey looked like in the 1960's before we started getting serious about pollution, and those pictures are damned close.

So yes, manufacturing firms did move overseas to avoid pollution laws and started killing people elsewhere.  Frankly I don't seriously want that kind of industry back.

However the problems cause by CO2 aren't local, they are global, and unless they are dealt with, oh like about 10 years ago, there are going to be catastrophic changes to the environment.  But don't worry, there will be plenty of stuff to eat anyway.  Soylent Green anybody?

The first officially named Atlantic hurricane was Hurricane Able, which formed on August 12, 1950 brushed the North Carolina coastline, and later moved across Atlantic Canada. The strongest hurricane of the season, Hurricane Dog, reached the equivalent of a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir–Simpson scale, and caused extensive damage to the Leeward Islands.

Easy produced the highest 24-hour rainfall total recorded in the United States, while King struck downtown Miami as a Category 4 hurricane and caused $27.75 million (1950 USD) of damage.

Wonder where President Trump was when all this was going on.
