Pink Tax? Really?

Girly Razors

I just purchased this pack of razors tonight at Dollar General.  They are girly razors; they are in girly colours and to show just how girly they are, they are scented in lavender.  No, I am not joking, they are lavender scented.  Now I don't need my razors to be in girly colours and I certainly don't need my razors to have girly scents.  The reason I purchased them was that with a discount coupon from the manufacturer, the pack of six was only $3.00.  A lot cheaper than the men's razor there which were not in girly colours and did not have a lavender scent.  So much for the pink tax.

I don't think finding one item where you got a discount (particularly since the item isn't moving - Ollie's is full of fringe items nobody wanted to buy at huge discounts) disproves that feminine products aren't more expensive.  Actually that's nothing new, Women's clothes have always been outrageously more expensive then men's, but that's the fashion industry.

I do find the whole "Pink Tax" business to be rather funny.  Another one of those things people can point out, but will never change, so why bother?

Tracy Ullman did a great piece of comedy over on BBC where she was hosting a support group for SJW's who where so Woke they couldn't have any fun anymore.  I can't find it on Youtube or I would link it.

I buy whatever is on sale or the cheapest. I figure if they are all disposable what does it matter? Men's, women's I don't care as long as it does the job.

I have been blessed with very fine body hair so I can buy a really good razor and it lasts me forever. I even resort to using an electric shaver a lot of the time.

Anyway, the purpose of this post was to illustrate that the Pink Tax is just another one of those SJWs bullshit things.

I buy the Schick Xtreme 3 Sensitive razors. I buy the 8 count razors on sale. There is no reason, to pay more money for women's razors with a scent. I have a lot of allergies. The scent would probably make me sick. https://www.amazon.com/Schick-Xtreme-Senstive-Disposable-Heavyweight/dp/B07D7NQWRC?th=1 .

Wow, 3 bucks for 6 razors? Heck,  I just bought Schick, package of 12 sensitive skin razors, at Kroger and only paid sale price of $2.99 for them. I also used a .60 cent digital coupon on the Kroger app, which saved me more.. I guess dollar general isn't that cheap.

I don't think those are comparable razors though.

The best thing to do about that tax is to not fall prey, and buy the non pink colors. Yet, it's funny that all the razors in the sale were the same price. Even the pink ones. I'm going to watch every price on pink now. Its one of my favorite colors.

It wasn't the color so much as items that are marketed to women.  To me it falls under the same category as pay inequality, Unless the person who is complaining comes up with a system that can be implemented to change what it is they are complaining about it isn't worth the time to discuss it let alone to get overwrought about it.
